Bring Maurice Cheeks to the Atlanta Hawks

Head Coaching Vacancy in Atlanta

The Atlanta Hawks are on the look out for a new head coach. They need a guy that brings NBA championship experience and coaching experience to the team. No more first year head coaches like Mike Woodson in Atlanta. The Hawks will do much better with a proven head coach and I can’t think of a better candidate than Maurice Cheeks.

Maurice Cheeks has led an NBA team to the championship. He knows what it takes to get there and go over the mountain; when a team does make it that far. I believe the Hawks best shot for an NBA Championship is with a guy like Mo Cheeks. The number 10 he wore in Philly as a player is also the grade I give him on rating him 1 through 10 as a new head coach for the Atlanta Hawks. He’s a ten and he’s our best man for the job. I have looked all around and been studying this for a long time now. He’s got the mentality as a head coach to coach what he’s got and doesn’t bring in a system for guys to follow. He’s a coach the guys for the Hawks would rally around and want to play for. If you’re going to war (like you do nightly in the NBA), you want a guy like Mo Cheeks calling the shots.

A perfect fit for a young and upcoming team like the Atlanta Hawks. Maurice Cheeks did well in Philadelphia, where he got a group of nobodies and turned them into a fun basketball team to watch. He had a taste for the head coaching duties in Portland and he’s been seasoned enough, to take on the role of head coach in the ATL. Currently you can find Maurice Cheeks sitting on the sidelines in Oklahoma, where he is working as an assistant coach. Don’t give Kevin Durant all the credit for the Thunder, because Maurice Cheeks was a big part of their appearance in the playoffs this year. He can get the Atlanta Hawks in the playoffs too, but with a much better brand of basketball. He knows the importance of moving the ball from his point guard days in the NBA. He can teach that ball movement in the Peach State; while making us a much faster team. Let’s showcase the talent we do have on our roster here in Atlanta and give the open head coaching spot to Maurice Cheeks!
